Dhaka, Nov 29 (NationPress) Tarique Rahman, the acting chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), expressed his deep desire to return to Bangladesh to be by the side of his critically ill mother and party leader, Khaleda Zia. However, the current political environment poses significant challenges for his return.

In a heartfelt message on his social media account, Rahman called on people to pray for his mother’s recovery and expressed optimism that he will eventually be able to come back home when the political situation allows.

Recent reports indicate that Khaleda Zia's health has further declined, requiring her to remain under strict observation in the Coronary Care Unit at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka.

“In this critical time, I yearn for my mother’s loving presence, just as any child would. Unfortunately, my circumstances limit my ability to fulfill this wish. We hope that once the political landscape stabilizes, my long-awaited return to Bangladesh will finally be realized,” Rahman stated.

The hospital has seen a surge of party leaders and supporters as concerns grow over Khaleda Zia’s health.

Furthermore, senior BNP officials, including Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, visited the hospital on Friday night.

Speaking to the media in Dhaka on Friday, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir characterized Khaleda Zia's condition as “very critical” and urged the nation to pray for her health.

“Everyone is aware that our leader, Begum Khaleda Zia, is unwell and hospitalized. The doctors informed us last night that her condition is extremely serious,” the BNP leader was quoted by the Bangladeshi media outlet UNB.

Reports have indicated that Khaleda Zia was admitted to the hospital on the evening of November 23 after medical professionals advised hospitalization due to infections affecting her heart and lungs.

She is also contending with pneumonia and remains under intensive care in the CCU, with both local and international medical specialists monitoring her treatment, according to UNB.
