Islamabad, Feb 12 (NationPress) The former Prime Minister of Pakistan and the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, has penned a third letter to the Army Chief, General Asim Munir, addressing six critical issues, including what he describes as alleged electoral fraud during the general elections held on February 8, 2024.

Details of this letter were disclosed by Khan’s legal representative, Faisal Chaudhary, to the media outside Adiala jail following a meeting with Khan.

Chaudhary mentioned that Imran Khan's latest correspondence with the army chief underscores six significant points, including the necessity for structural reforms; the harm inflicted on democracy by the current government's practices; claims of electoral fraud against PTI in the 2024 elections; an urgent call for a judicial commission to probe the riots of May 9, 2023; the need for an investigation into the November 26 PTI protest which resulted in the deaths of at least 12 PTI workers; and the ongoing efforts to suppress PTI, the largest political party in Pakistan.

Faisal Chaudhary reiterated PTI's unwavering demand for a judicial commission to investigate the riots that occurred on May 9, emphasizing that the targeted crackdown on PTI, including the arrest of Imran Khan and other leaders, as well as raids in Punjab, have persisted despite government denials.

Regarding the GHQ attack case from May 9, 2023, Chaudhary noted that PTI will seek an open trial based on Imran Khan's directives.

In his letter, Imran Khan also points out the preferential treatment given to minority voters over the majority support for PTI during the electoral process.

“Imran Khan stated that the fraudulent elections have placed money launderers and corrupt individuals in positions of power,” Chaudhary revealed.

“He will also mention that the rising terrorism in the country is a consequence of the lack of rule of law,” added Chaudhary.

The former Prime Minister claims this is his third letter to the army chief. However, the military establishment has dismissed these claims, stating they have not received any correspondence from Imran Khan, labeling his assertions as unfounded.

The military has emphasized that any political discussions should be conducted with elected officials, not military personnel.
