Seoul, May 14 (NationPress) North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has overseen the joint tactical exercises of special operations, emphasizing that the most essential objective for the North's military is to ensure complete readiness for war, according to reports from state media on Wednesday.

The tactical exercises, which involved special operations and a showcase of tank subunits' coordinated fire strikes, occurred the day before, as reported by Yonhap news agency citing the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

Kim stated, "Our revolutionary armed forces are now responsible for multiple fronts, but the most critical among them is the anti-imperialist class front, and achieving full war preparedness is the most essential task," as per KCNA.

He added that these combat drills are intended to help "transform the entire military into elite ranks."

Kim seems to have emphasized the notion of the anti-imperialist class front to rationalize the North's troop deployment to Russia in support of Moscow’s engagement in the conflict with Ukraine.

State media released images depicting North Korean soldiers in camouflage utilizing drones. Earlier, South Korea's intelligence agency reported signs of North Korean troops in Russia learning drone tactics and operations from Moscow.

Last month, North Korea confirmed for the first time its troop deployment to Russia to assist in combating Ukrainian forces. During a visit to the Russian Embassy in Pyongyang last week, Kim referred to the North's participation in the conflict as "justifiable," labeling it an exercise of sovereign rights under a mutual defense agreement with Moscow.
