Global Leaders Extend Congratulations to President Trump on His Inauguration

Washington, Jan 21 (NationPress) World leaders from NATO and numerous European nations extended their congratulations to US President Donald Trump on his return to the White House, marking his official inauguration.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte expressed that with Trump back in office, they will "turbo-charge" defense spending and production, likely alluding to Trump's advocacy for European nations to take on a larger share of their defense responsibilities.

On social media platform X, Rutte stated, "My warm congratulations to @realDonaldTrump on his inauguration as 47th President of the USA, and to @JDVance as Vice President. Together we can achieve peace through strength -- through @NATO." Trump has often been critical of the NATO alliance.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated Trump on his historic second term. During the inauguration ceremony held at the Capitol Rotunda, Trump took the oath as the 47th President of the United States.

Modi expressed on X: "Congratulations my dear friend President @realDonaldTrump on your historic inauguration as the 47th President of the United States! I look forward to working closely together once again, to benefit both our countries and to shape a better future for the world. Best wishes for a successful term ahead."

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni also conveyed her best wishes for Trump’s new mandate on X, emphasizing that the friendship between their countries will bolster collaboration in addressing global challenges.

"Italy will always be committed to consolidating the dialogue between the US and Europe, as an essential pillar for the stability and growth of our communities," Meloni added, noting her political alignment with Trump.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk shared his congratulations on X, stating: "Congratulations Donald Trump on being sworn in as 47th President of the United States. All the best from Poland and the EU Presidency."

Slovenia's Prime Minister Robert Golob remarked on the enduring friendship and robust bilateral relations between Slovenia and the US in his congratulatory message.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky congratulated Trump on X, highlighting that Trump's decisive leadership and his peace-through-strength policy could enhance American leadership and achieve lasting peace.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed optimism for elevating the US-Israel alliance under Trump's leadership and thanked him for his efforts in securing the release of Israeli hostages.
