New Delhi, Jan 27 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a phone conversation with US President Donald Trump on Monday evening, emphasizing that New Delhi is dedicated to a "mutually beneficial and trusted partnership" with Washington.
"It was a pleasure to connect with my dear friend, President Donald Trump. I congratulated him on his momentous second term. We are committed to a mutually beneficial and trusted partnership and will collaborate for the betterment of our citizens and the pursuit of global peace, prosperity, and security," PM Modi shared on X following their discussion.
This marks the inaugural dialogue between the two leaders since President Trump assumed office last week.
On January 20, PM Modi extended his congratulations to Trump on his re-election to the White House for a significant second term.
"Congratulations my dear friend, President Donald Trump, on your historic inauguration as the 47th President of the United States! I look forward to collaborating closely once more, benefiting both our nations and crafting a brighter future for the world. Wishing you a successful term ahead," PM Modi expressed as Trump took the oath at the Capitol Rotunda.
