Macron Endorses Departure of Barnier Administration
Paris, December 5 (NationPress) - French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday sanctioned the departure of the administration led by Prime Minister Michel Barnier, who was previously dismissed following a parliamentary vote of no confidence.
In the interim period before a new government is established, Macron has requested Barnier to oversee a caretaker administration to manage ongoing affairs, as stated by the Elysee in a press release, according to Xinhua news agency.
"The Prime Minister today presented his government’s resignation to the President of the Republic, who acknowledged it," the release noted.
