Kampala, Oct 17 (NationPress) The Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, engaged with the Indian community in Uganda on Friday, praising their entrepreneurial spirit, unwavering commitment, and deep affection for India, characterizing them as a vital connection of friendship between the two nations.
In a post on X, Singh expressed, “I am delighted to engage with the vibrant Indian diaspora in Uganda. Their entrepreneurial zeal, dedication, and love for India serve as a living link of friendship between our two countries.”
During his visit, the MoS conducted separate discussions with Yvan Gil Pinto, Venezuela’s Foreign Affairs Minister, and Maxim Ryzhenkov, Belarus's Foreign Minister, on the sidelines of the 19th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Mid-term Ministerial in Kampala.
Earlier, Singh planted a sapling at the Shree Swaminarayan Temple Complex in Uganda's capital, Kampala, as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative.
“I visited the Shree Swaminarayan Temple Complex, Kampala, and planted a sapling there as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative. This campaign is driving action and emphasizes our collective responsibility toward environmental preservation,” Singh posted on X.
Since its inception, the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ initiative has attracted international attention and received accolades for its ambition and potential to transform climate preservation efforts into a ‘people’s revolution’.
On Thursday, the MoS also met Riyad Mansour, the Permanent Observer of Palestine to the United Nations, during the NAM Mid-Term Ministerial.
