Manama, May 24 (NationPress) An all-party Indian parliamentary delegation, headed by BJP MP Baijayant Jay Panda, has landed in Bahrain as part of a high-profile diplomatic outreach initiative aimed at combatting terrorism.
This visit seeks to bolster India's relationships in the region while showcasing the nation's resolute position against cross-border terrorism, marking the commencement of a multi-nation tour that includes Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Algeria.
The Embassy of India in Bahrain confirmed the delegation's arrival through a social media update on platform X, stating, “The All-Party Delegation led by H.E. Baijayant Jay Panda, Member of Parliament, has arrived in Bahrain. India’s steadfast stance against cross-border terrorism will be emphasized during all interactions. Ambassador Vinod K. Jacob welcomed Hon'ble Baijayant Jay Panda & the delegation at the airport.”
Before their departure, Jay Panda highlighted the group’s bipartisan nature and unity. “Our team is setting out for West Asia. We consist of senior members and a wide representation from the political spectrum. The key message is the unity that India has showcased globally and continues to exhibit. We are dedicated to conveying that, following our military victories, it is just as crucial to keep the world focused on terrorism, which has impacted numerous countries,” he remarked.
He further emphasized, “India is confronted with a unique type of terrorism—state-sponsored terrorism. Recently, many nations have begun to voice their support for our stance. That is our mission.”
AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi, also part of Jay Panda's delegation, outlined the itinerary and emphasized the broader regional context. “We will be visiting Bahrain, followed by Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and finally Algeria. It’s clear that the recent incident in Pahalgam was tragic, and for many years, our neighboring country, Pakistan, has harbored terrorist camps on its territory, providing them with safety and support. These terrorists then infiltrate our nation to execute attacks. Our visits to these four countries aim to highlight these issues and realities,” Owaisi stated.
Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu reiterated the group's commitment to firmly represent India's voice. “We are heading to Bahrain. I am part of Group 1 delegation. Our duty is to express India's position in Bahrain,” he noted.
