Over 5 Million Individuals Affected by Tsunami Alert Following 7.0 Earthquake in California

Los Angeles, Dec 6 (NationPress) More than five million individuals in northern California, USA, are currently under a tsunami alert following a 7.0-magnitude earthquake that struck the region.
The significant tremor occurred near Ferndale, a city within Humboldt County in northern California, at 10:44 a.m. Eastern Time on Thursday, as reported by the US Geological Survey (USGS).
Initially recorded as a 6.6 magnitude quake, it was subsequently revised to 7.0 by the USGS, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.
At least 5.3 million people in California are under the tsunami warning issued by the US National Weather Service (NWS) following the earthquake, according to the USGS.
The tsunami alert stretches from the Oregon state line to the San Francisco Bay Area, as per the NWS.
Residents along the northern California coastline and extending into the Central Valley reported experiencing shaking.
No immediate damage reports have been received.
The San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District, commonly known as BART, has suspended all traffic through the underwater tunnel connecting San Francisco and Oakland, according to local media.
