Moscow, April 5 (NationPress) The Russian state nuclear enterprise, Rosatom, has initiated the principal phase of evacuating personnel from the Bushehr nuclear power facility in Iran, as stated by Rosatom's Director General, Alexey Likhachev.
According to Likhachev, a total of 198 Rosatom staff members are being transported by bus towards the Iranian-Armenian border.
"We are optimistic that in the next two to three days, our colleagues will traverse nearly the entire expanse of Iran and return safely to our homeland," he mentioned.
Likhachev noted that the Iranian authorities are taking significant measures to secure the evacuation route for Rosatom employees, and cooperation with the Armenian government is progressing effectively, as reported by Xinhua.
The Russian nuclear experts will depart from Yerevan airport, he added.
Earlier, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran reported that a projectile struck a location near the Bushehr nuclear site, resulting in the death of a security worker, marking the fourth such incident since the US-Israeli strikes against Iran commenced on February 28.
In related news, Iran's Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, expressed that Tehran aims to finalize terms for a "decisive and enduring" resolution to the US and Israeli aggression against the nation.
Araghchi condemned an attack near the Bushehr nuclear site and cautioned about its potential deadly repercussions for the region of West Asia.
The Bushehr nuclear facility, situated approximately 17 km southeast of the city of Bushehr and developed in collaboration with Russia, began generating electricity in September 2011. In November 2014, Iran and Russia formalized an agreement to enhance the plant with two additional reactors.
