Moscow, May 23 (NationPress) In response to the horrific terrorist incident on April 22 in Pahalgam, Russia expressed its unwavering support for India in the fight against terrorism in all its forms. This commitment was shared during a meeting between an all-party delegation from India, led by DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, and senior officials of the Russian Federation Council, including Andrey Denisov, First Deputy Chair of the Committee on International Affairs.
During their discussions, the Russian representatives condemned the Pahalgam attack and reiterated their solidarity with India in the global battle against terrorism.
“The All-Party Delegation, under the leadership of Hon’ble MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, met with First Deputy Chair H.E. Mr. Andrey Denisov and other senators. The Russian side strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, emphasizing that Russia stands with India in the elimination of terrorism in all its manifestations. Both nations share a common stance in the fight against this menace,” stated the Indian Embassy in Russia on X.
“United in the battle against terrorism!” the post continued.
Earlier that day, Indian Ambassador to Russia Vinay Kumar briefed the delegation about various aspects of bilateral relations, emphasizing India's firm commitment to combatting terrorism worldwide as part of Operation Sindoor.
“Ambassador Vinay Kumar provided insights to MPs Kanimozhi, Rajeev Rai, Brijesh Chowta, Prem Chand Gupta, Ashok Kumar Mittal, and Ambassador Manjeev Puri regarding India-Russia relations before the commencement of their official interactions,” the Indian Embassy noted on X.
On Friday, the third high-profile delegation led by Kanimozhi arrived in Moscow to assert India's strong position against terrorism. They were welcomed by Ambassador Vinay Kumar.
The delegation includes Samajwadi Party MP Rajeev Rai, BJP MP Captain Brijesh Chowta (Retd.), RJD MP Prem Chand Gupta, AAP MP Ashok Kumar Mittal, and former Ambassador of India to the EU, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Nepal; former Deputy Permanent Representative of India to the UN, Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri.
“Upon their arrival at Moscow's Domodedovo Airport, MPs Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, Rajeev Rai, Captain Brijesh Chowta, Prem Chand Gupta, Ashok Kumar Mittal, and Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri were received by Ambassador of India to Russia, Vinay Kumar. They are set for a packed schedule of meetings and interactions on May 23-24, 2025,” the Indian Embassy in Russia announced on X.
This visit is part of India's extensive diplomatic initiative to highlight Pakistan's ongoing involvement in cross-border terrorism following the Pahalgam attack on April 22.
“As part of the Indian government's sustained efforts under Operation Sindoor and in support of India's principled stance against terrorism, an All-Party Delegation consisting of Members of Parliament and a senior diplomat is visiting Russia from May 22 to May 24, 2025. The delegation will convey the country's resolute message of zero tolerance for terrorism in all its forms,” the Indian Embassy in Russia stated on Thursday.
