Athens, May 29 (NationPress) The Indian all-party parliamentary delegation, headed by DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, engaged in a fruitful discussion with the editorial team of Greece's prominent newspaper 'Kathimerini' on Thursday. They articulated India's 'new normal policy' on terrorism while sharing the principled and measured response through 'Operation Sindoor' following the April 22 Pahalgam terror incident.

This visit signifies a continued effort by India to strengthen international alliances against cross-border terrorism.

Among the Kanimozhi-led parliamentarians were Samajwadi Party MP Rajeev Rai, BJP MP Captain Brijesh Chowta (Retd.), RJD MP Prem Chand Gupta, AAP MP Ashok Kumar Mittal, and former Deputy Permanent Representative of India to the UN, Ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri.

“Terrorism transcends borders, and so must our commitment to combat it! In Athens, we engaged in a constructive dialogue with the editorial team of 'Kathimerini', sharing India's principled and calculated response via 'Operation Sindoor' in light of the tragic Pahalgam attack,” Ashok Mittal shared on 'X' on Thursday.

“We communicated India's 'new normal', a steadfast doctrine of zero tolerance for terrorism in all its manifestations. We called for global unity in holding both the perpetrators and their supporters accountable. India’s message is unequivocal: Calibrated justice is paramount, and the international community must unite against this collective threat,” the post elaborated.

Earlier, the delegation engaged with the Indian community in Greece, where the diaspora expressed unwavering support for India's endeavors and solidarity following the recent tragic events.

“A Bond Beyond Borders. We wrapped up our day in Athens, Greece, with heartfelt interactions with the Indian diaspora. Their support affirms the unbreakable bond between India and its global citizens,” Mittal conveyed on X.

As a testament to India’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism, the delegation conducted high-level discussions on Wednesday. They met with senior officials from Greece’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Deputy Minister Tasos Chatzivasileiou, key members of the Greek Parliament, leading policy experts, and media representatives.

During the meeting with Deputy Minister Chatzivasileiou, the delegation provided a thorough briefing on the brutal terrorist attack in Pahalgam, underlining India's proportionate and restrained response. They reiterated India's steadfast commitment to obliterating the scourge of terrorism through strategic and calculated measures.

“In addressing major media outlets, the delegation reaffirmed India's solid anti-terrorism doctrine. They stressed that 'Operation Sindoor' was a justified, deliberate reaction to the attack, aligning with India's principles of calibrated justice. It was emphasized that terrorism is a global threat, and the international community must unite to confront this shared menace,” the Indian Embassy in Greece stated.

“The delegation also met with leaders and representatives from leading Greek think tanks. Discussions revolved around India’s revised counter-terrorism approach — marked by prompt and resolute actions that hold both terrorists and their supporters accountable,” the statement read.

This delegation forms part of India's global diplomatic outreach campaign to underscore the importance of 'Operation Sindoor' and India's ongoing battle against Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism, following successful engagements in Slovenia and Russia, reaffirming India's firm stance against terrorism.
