Bandar Seri Begawan, December 11 (NationPress) - The Sultan of Brunei, Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, has presided over board meetings of the nation's major energy firms, calling for collaborative efforts to confront future challenges, according to local media reports.

The 413th Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei Shell Petroleum Sdn Bhd (BSP) and the 191st Board of Directors Meeting of Brunei Shell Marketing Sdn Bhd (BSM) were held at the Brunei Prime Minister's Office on Tuesday, as reported by the Xinhua news agency and quoted in the official media Pelita Brunei.

During the meetings, the Sultan highlighted the necessity for strong leadership, alongside technical expertise, unwavering dedication, and a united approach within the Brunei Shell Joint Venture and BGC to effectively tackle future challenges.

Participants at the meeting deliberated on vital topics including operational performance, safety, finance, and human resource development, as well as establishing the strategic direction for BSP and BSM in the forthcoming years.

Brunei is recognized as a significant oil and gas producer in Southeast Asia.
