Tragic Military Helicopter Incident Claims Five Lives in Turkey

Ankara, Dec 9 (NationPress) A military helicopter accident during a training flight in Turkey's southwest Isparta province resulted in the loss of five soldiers' lives and critically injured another individual on Monday, as reported by local media.

The Governor of the province, Abdullah Erin, confirmed that Brigadier General Isa Baydilli, the commander of the Isparta Army Aviation School, was among the deceased, according to Xinhua news agency, which cited local broadcaster NTV.

Emergency response units, including ambulances and firefighters, were swiftly deployed to the crash site located near a gas station in the Keciborlu district.

Previously, on June 1, 2017, a tragic incident saw at least 13 military personnel lose their lives in a helicopter crash in Turkey's Sirnak Province.

The Turkish Armed Forces reported that an AS 532 Cougar helicopter, carrying 13 individuals, had taken off from a military base in Senoba, Sirnak. Shortly after takeoff, the helicopter collided with a high-voltage line, leading to its crash.
