Washington, Feb 8 (NationPress) - The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has officially rescinded the security clearance of his predecessor, Joe Biden. This decision will bar Biden from receiving classified briefings, seemingly as a retaliation for the actions taken against Trump in 2021.

On Friday, Trump stated on Truth Social, a platform he owns, "There is no need for Joe Biden to continue receiving access to classified information." He further declared, "Therefore, we are immediately revoking Joe Biden's Security Clearances, and halting his daily Intelligence Briefings."

Trump elaborated on his motives, explaining, "He set this precedent in 2021 when he directed the Intelligence Community (IC) to deny the 45th President of the United States (ME!) access to crucial National Security details, a privilege traditionally extended to former Presidents."

Referencing the Hur Report, which indicated Biden's alleged issues with memory, Trump remarked that even during his best years, Biden could not be relied upon to handle sensitive information. "I will always safeguard our National Security," he added, referencing the investigation led by US Attorney Robert Hur regarding Biden's management of classified documents.

Trump concluded dramatically, saying, "JOE, YOU'RE FIRED. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

While former Presidents still receive classified briefings, the frequency has significantly decreased compared to their presidency, and they are primarily granted access as needed for foreign trips, speeches on foreign policy, or meetings with foreign leaders.

Biden had previously suspended Trump's security clearance and briefings shortly after his inauguration in 2021 due to Trump's involvement in the January 6 Capitol riot, which aimed to disrupt the certification of Biden's electoral victory.

Biden questioned, "What value is there in giving him an intelligence briefing?" during an interview with CBS News at that time.

Trump's relationship with past Presidents, both Democratic and Republican, has been strained. However, he did not obstruct Barack Obama from receiving intelligence briefings.
