Washington, March 2 (NationPress) On Monday, President Donald Trump staunchly supported the ongoing US military operations in Iran, asserting that the forces are "significantly ahead" of their timeline and resolute in their mission to eliminate what he termed an "unacceptable threat" stemming from Tehran's missile and nuclear pursuits.

“Currently, the US military is engaged in extensive combat efforts in Iran to neutralize the serious threats posed to our nation by this dangerous terrorist regime,” Trump remarked during a briefing at the White House.

He highlighted that these operations followed the so-called "Operation Midnight Hammer," which he claimed had resulted in the "destruction of Iran's nuclear initiatives," and cautioned Tehran against any attempts to rebuild its capabilities.

“We previously cautioned Iran against any efforts to reconstruct their program at a different site… but they disregarded our warnings and persisted with their nuclear weapons ambitions,” he stated.

Trump laid out what he described as explicit objectives. “First, we are dismantling Iran's missile capabilities, and you can observe that progress hourly, along with their ability to produce new ones… Second, we are incapacitating their navy. We have already sunk ten of their ships to the ocean floor. Third, we are making sure that the world's leading sponsor of terrorism will never possess a nuclear weapon—never.”

He noted that the Iranian missile program poses an escalating threat. “The regime already possesses missiles that can target Europe and our military bases, both domestically and internationally, and would soon acquire missiles capable of striking our great nation.”

The President acknowledged American fatalities. “Today, we mourn the four brave American service members who lost their lives in action and extend our love and support to their families.”

He asserted that the United States would continue this campaign for as long as needed. “We are already significantly ahead of our projections. But whatever the duration, it is acceptable. Whatever it takes, we will always… achieve it,” he emphasized, adding: “We have the most powerful military by far in the world, and we will undoubtedly triumph.”

Trump also revisited his criticisms of the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran. “I take pride in having dismantled the Iran nuclear agreement… It was a dreadful, perilous document,” he said, arguing that it would have enabled Tehran to acquire nuclear weapons.

“An Iranian regime equipped with long-range missiles and nuclear armaments would represent an intolerable menace to the Middle East. Additionally, it would pose a direct threat to the American populace. Our nation itself would be in jeopardy, and it was perilously close to that situation,” he concluded.
