Washington, Mar 27 (NationPress) President Donald Trump declared that US forces have achieved a decisive victory in their conflict with Iran, asserting that Tehran's military capabilities are significantly diminished. He announced a 10-day pause to facilitate negotiations before any further military actions may occur.

In a phone interview with Fox News' "The Five," Trump emphasized that the US military operations had effectively neutralized Iran's capacity to engage in warfare.

"We have already claimed victory. Militarily, we have completely won the conflict," he stated.

He mentioned that the military strikes were intended to thwart Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons, cautioning against permitting hostile regimes to acquire such dangerous capabilities.

"You cannot allow a madman, or a destructive ideology, to possess nuclear arms," Trump asserted.

The President elaborated on the extent of the US military operations, claiming they inflicted serious damage on Iran's military infrastructure.

"We have dismantled their Navy, we have obliterated their Air Force… we have taken out the majority of their missile systems," he detailed, also noting that missile launch facilities and communication networks were targeted.

Trump further asserted that US forces had targeted Iran's leadership structure. "We have taken out their leaders… they are all trying to avoid being in that position," he remarked.

Despite his assertive tone, Trump conveyed that he had decided to postpone any further escalation following a request from Iran.

"They reached out to me… 'Could we have more time?'... so I granted them a 10-day timeframe," he said, adding that negotiations were progressing positively.

He warned that a failure to arrive at a satisfactory agreement would lead to renewed military strikes. "If they fail to comply, I will target their power plants," he stated.

Trump maintained that the US intervention was critical not only for national security but also for global stability.

"We are providing a significant service to the world," he remarked.

The President also claimed that Iran was on the verge of developing nuclear weapons prior to the US military action.

"If we hadn't intervened… they would possess a nuclear weapon by now, and they would have used it by this time," he said.

In response to domestic dissent, Trump dismissed opposing viewpoints, highlighting what he described as robust support among his political base.

"The MAGA supporters are astute… they do not wish to see us with a nuclear bomb looming over them," he stated.

He connected the military operation to the broader theme of US strategic dominance, showcasing the superiority of the US military.

"We possess the most formidable military in the world… no one even comes close," he concluded.
