Key Takeaways
Washington, March 7 (NationPress) - On Saturday, US President Donald Trump announced that American forces have significantly damaged Iran's military capabilities, asserting that Tehran's naval and air operations have been severely disabled during the latest conflict phase.
While addressing the Shield of the Americas Summit in Doral, Florida, Trump stated that US military actions have produced considerable results on the battlefield.
"Enormous progress has been achieved, as you might have seen," he remarked.
Trump emphasized his role in strengthening the military during his initial term, stating, "I built the military and revamped it, making it exceptionally strong."
He claimed that US forces have swiftly dismantled critical Iranian assets.
"In just three days, we eliminated 42 Navy vessels, some quite large. That marked the end of their Navy," he declared.
Moreover, he stated that Iran's communication systems have been disrupted.
"We took out their Air Force and rendered their communications useless; all telecommunication is gone," Trump commented, adding, "I have no idea how they will communicate now, but I suppose they'll find a way."
The US President characterized the operation as essential to mitigate nuclear threats.
"They (Iran) were on the brink of developing a nuclear weapon," Trump claimed, adding, "They would have succeeded if we hadn't executed our B-2 strike, dubbed 'Midnight Hammer.'"
He indicated that the operation was intended to avert a larger global crisis.
"We did the world a favor," Trump stated, mentioning, "They (Iran) are unpredictable and would have used it."
The US President praised the capabilities of the US Armed Forces.
"There is no military like it anywhere on the planet," he asserted.
While acknowledging the effectiveness of the military campaign, Trump recognized the human cost of warfare.
He stated that he would visit Dover to meet the families of American service members who lost their lives in the conflict.
"I'm heading to Dover. It's a very sad situation to console the families of our heroes returning from Iran," Trump expressed.
He added, "In war, there are always sacrifices, but we are striving to keep those to a minimum."
Trump framed the campaign as part of a larger mission to stabilize the Middle East and deter future threats.
"This is a service we are providing, not only for the Middle East but for the world," he concluded.
