Jerusalem, Oct 13 (NationPress) - On Monday, US President Donald Trump conveyed that the United States is poised to engage in discussions for a nuclear agreement with Iran whenever Tehran is ready. He emphasized that such a decision would be the "best choice" Iran could ever make and expressed confidence that it will materialize.

During his speech at the Israeli Knesset, Trump stated, "Iran is eager to negotiate, and we’re going to see if we can reach an agreement because the current situation is untenable. Neither the United States nor Israel wishes any harm upon the Iranian people; we simply desire peace without the shadow of nuclear threats."

He further remarked, "The greatest benefit for the region would be for the leaders of Iran to disavow terrorism, cease threats to their neighbors, stop financing militant groups, and finally acknowledge Israel's right to exist. They must take this step. And let me clarify, this is not an expression of weakness. We are prepared whenever you are. It will indeed be the best decision Iran has ever made, and it will happen."

Trump reiterated his claim that the US has inflicted damage on Iran’s critical nuclear infrastructure, stating, "We dropped 14 bombs on key Iranian nuclear sites, which has been confirmed, and the world is aware of it. Together, we have prevented the leading state sponsor of terror from acquiring the world's most perilous weapons."

He noted that Iran was on the brink of developing a nuclear weapon, mentioning that "they were only about two months away from achieving it." Trump asserted, "If we hadn’t intervened, the current deal would be overshadowed by a potential nuclear threat."

Trump expressed his desire to finalize a deal with Iran while prioritizing relations with Russia first. He described the current times as exciting for Israel and the entire Middle East, as the forces of chaos and terror have become weakened and isolated. He spoke of a new coalition of responsible nations emerging.

He concluded, "Even if we were to finalize the deal, which many might oppose, we have significantly alleviated the tension in the Middle East and for Israel, and it was my honor to contribute to that. Can you imagine if someone powerful in the Middle East was still in charge? The situation would be drastically different." He reiterated, "Iran does not wish to restart its nuclear program; their focus is on survival, and I believe we have a genuine opportunity ahead."
