Washington, March 10 (NationPress) - In a recent statement, US President Donald Trump emphasized his stern warning to Iran regarding the Strait of Hormuz. He asserted that any attempt by Iran to obstruct or interfere with this crucial oil passage would result in a decisive American response. “If Iran takes any action to halt the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz, they will face repercussions from the United States that are twenty times more severe than anything they have experienced so far,” Trump declared in a post on Truth Social.

He further threatened to target Iranian infrastructure, stating, “We will eliminate easily destructible targets that would render it virtually impossible for Iran to rebuild as a nation — Death, Fire, and Fury will descend upon them — But I genuinely hope it does not come to that!”

Earlier, at Trump National Doral in Miami, Trump reiterated that the United States is committed to safeguarding one of the globe's most significant energy pathways. “As we proceed with Operation Epic Fury, our focus remains on ensuring the continued flow of energy and oil to the world. I will not permit a terrorist regime to jeopardize global oil supplies,” he asserted.

Trump assured that the Strait of Hormuz would be secured under American protection, stating, “The Strait of Hormuz will remain safe. We have a substantial naval presence in the region.” He indicated that US naval power and mine-detection capabilities are being strategically positioned to protect the waterway if necessary. “We possess the finest equipment globally for mine inspection,” he noted.

Moreover, Trump cautioned that any Iranian actions in the Strait would have consequences extending beyond the battlefield. “Should they act, the cost will be immeasurable,” he warned. “It is essential to keep the strait open.”

Additionally, he mentioned that the United States is prepared to offer direct support to commercial shipping. “In the interim, during this brief disruption, the United States is providing political risk insurance to any tankers operating in the Gulf,” Trump stated.

He added that US and allied forces may escort vessels through the narrow strait if threats escalate. “When necessary, the US Navy and its allies will ensure the safe passage of tankers through the strait,” he said.

Trump also highlighted the importance of keeping this route open for Asia and other energy-dependent regions rather than just for the US. “It doesn’t significantly impact us; we have an abundance of oil. We possess far more oil and gas than we require,” he mentioned.

However, he acknowledged that many nations, particularly China, rely heavily on this passage. “This is a significant contribution from the United States to China and all those nations that depend on the Hormuz Strait,” Trump remarked. “We are genuinely assisting China and other countries as they source a considerable amount of their energy from the states.”

Trump also indicated that the administration is contemplating temporary sanctions relief related to oil markets to curb price hikes. “We are also considering waiving certain oil-related sanctions to mitigate price increases,” he noted.

He framed the Strait of Hormuz as a pivotal battleground in the broader conflict with Iran, stating that Washington will not accept threats to commercial shipping. “In recent years, the regime and its terrorist proxies have executed attacks on numerous commercial vessels,” he pointed out. “We are determined to eliminate these threats once and for all.”

The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow passage connecting the Gulf to the Arabian Sea and serves as one of the world's most critical oil transit chokepoints. A significant volume of crude oil exports from Gulf producers transit through it, making any threat to this route a major concern for global energy markets.
