Washington, April 5 (NationPress) President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that a second U.S. crew member from a downed F-15E Strike Eagle in Iran has been successfully rescued, describing the operation as one of the most audacious search and rescue missions in American military history.

Earlier, an Al Jazeera report revealed that the missing crew member, unaccounted for nearly two days after the aircraft's crash, had been found and rescued amidst intense combat in dangerous terrain.

The F-15E Strike Eagle was manned by a pilot and a weapons systems officer. While one crew member was saved shortly after the incident, the second remained unaccounted for, prompting a complex and high-stakes recovery effort.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump shared the news, stating, "We got him! My fellow Americans, during the past several hours, the United States Military executed one of the most daring Search and Rescue Operations in U.S. history, saving one of our incredible Crew Member Officers, who also happens to be a highly respected Colonel, and I am excited to inform you that he is now safe and sound!"

He elaborated on the operation, stating, "This courageous warrior was behind enemy lines in the perilous mountains of Iran, pursued by hostile forces, but was never truly alone, as his Commander in Chief, Secretary of War, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and fellow warfighters monitored his location around the clock, diligently planning for his rescue."

The U.S. President noted that the rescue mission required a substantial deployment of military assets.

"At my command, the U.S. Military dispatched numerous aircraft, armed with the most advanced weaponry in the world, to retrieve him. Though he sustained injuries, he is expected to recover. This remarkable Search and Rescue mission follows the successful recovery of another brave pilot just yesterday, which we initially withheld confirmation for to avoid jeopardizing the second rescue operation," he stated.

Trump emphasized the significance of the mission, asserting, "This is the first instance in military history where two U.S. pilots have been rescued individually deep within enemy territory. We will never abandon an American warfighter! The successful execution of both operations without any American casualties reaffirms our overwhelming air dominance and superiority over Iranian skies."

He also framed the operation as a unifying moment for the nation, saying, "This is a moment that all Americans, regardless of political affiliation, should take pride in and rally around. We truly possess the best, most professional, and lethal military in history."

According to reports from Iranian media, the F-15E aircraft was targeted over central Iran and is believed to have crashed in the Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province.

Iranian forces initiated a large-scale search operation for the missing crew member and reportedly offered a reward of $60,000 for any information leading to his capture.
