Jaipur, June 23 (NationPress) Criticizing the opposition Congress and its leaders, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma asserted on Monday that the one-and-a-half-year tenure of his government has already eclipsed the five-year performance of the previous Ashok Gehlot administration in the state.
"Congress leaders are stuck on social media, while our one and a half years of governance have surpassed their five-year term," proclaimed Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, launching a fierce critique of the opposition during a tribute event at the BJP State Headquarters on the martyrdom day of Syama Prasad Mookerjee.
The occasion not only served as a moment of remembrance but also showcased the achievements of the current government, reaffirming its dedication to national unity and grassroots development.
In a pointed remark about the opposition, Sharma stated, “Congress leaders are limited to social media. They claim the CM is never present, yet they were busy lounging in hotels. Let them present their five-year record — I will demonstrate what we have accomplished in just one and a half years.” He continued, “Where is electricity not being supplied? Ask, and I will provide the data. Compare our record on power generation and household/agricultural connections — the truth will be evident. While Congress tweets, we deliver results on the ground.”
The Chief Minister accused Congress of taking advantage of the poor under the slogan ‘Garibi Hatao’.
“While Congress engaged in politics of appeasement and discrimination, the BJP adheres to the motto ‘Nation First’. We are diligently working for the advancement of the poor, farmers, women, and youth. Congress lost power from Panchayat to Parliament because they strayed from their ideology and the people,” he remarked.
CM Sharma characterized the BJP as “an army of selfless workers” committed to delivering government schemes to the grassroots. “Our strength lies in both organization and service,” he added.
Chief Minister Sharma also announced that the party would kick off the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Antyodaya Pakhwada starting tomorrow, aimed at extending the benefits of welfare schemes to the last person in line.
He elaborated, “We pledged to make 5,000 villages BPL-free in this year’s budget. For this, Rs 300 crore has already been allocated. During this fortnight, these villages will be liberated from poverty as we expedite welfare and development initiatives.” At the close of the event, CM Sharma engaged personally with each party worker, emphasizing his commitment to grassroots involvement.
BJP State President Madan Rathore became emotional while reflecting on the sacrifice of Syama Prasad Mookerjee.
“Dr. Mookerjee dedicated his life for the unity of the country and for ensuring Kashmir remained an integral part of India. The sapling he planted was nurtured by Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and now it has blossomed into a tree,” he added.
