Arrests and Encounter
Police arrested two of the accused during the course of the investigation. A third unidentified accused was subsequently apprehended following a police encounter, in which he sustained a bullet injury to his leg. He is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. Investigators reportedly recovered a .315 bore country-made pistol, one empty cartridge, one live cartridge, a mobile phone, a bottle of liquor, and a car from the accused.
Second Crime Against a Minor in UP
Separately, in another reported crime against women and children in the state, a seven-year-old girl was found dead in the basement of an under-construction mall in Raj Nagar Extension, Ghaziabad. The child's body was recovered in the early hours of Saturday. A post-mortem examination confirmed she was raped before her death and died due to a head injury. According to police, one of the accused had befriended the child by playing with her and her siblings and offering them chocolates and snacks. An FIR has been registered based on a complaint by the family.

Both cases remain under active investigation. Police have said the Lalitpur accused will be produced before the court based on available evidence. The back-to-back incidents have drawn fresh attention to the safety of women and children in Uttar Pradesh.
