AAP Punjab Optimistic About Success in Urban Local Bodies Elections

Chandigarh, Dec 10 (NationPress) With a significant display of public trust shown through a record number of candidate applications, AAP Punjab President Aman Arora stated on Tuesday that he is highly optimistic about the party's potential landmark success in the urban local bodies elections taking place on December 21.
The party convened a preparatory and review meeting on Tuesday, which was led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann along with AAP state President Aman Arora. This meeting saw the involvement of senior leaders, including office-bearers at both the state and district levels, ministers, and MLAs.
Arora underscored the high levels of enthusiasm and positive energy that were evident during the gathering, stressing the party's pledge to a transparent and merit-based candidate selection process for the 977 wards across five municipal corporations and 43 committees, councils, and nagar panchayats.
“With the guidance of AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal and organization general secretary Sandeep Pathak, we have organized Punjab into 10 zones to facilitate a structured approach to candidate selection. Screening committees comprised of MPs, MLAs, and district-level office-bearers have been established, each with a nine-member team overseeing the process within every zone,” he elaborated.
Arora noted that for the first time, approximately 350 office-bearers from the party took part in the screening process, highlighting the party's commitment to inclusivity and fair representation.
“The remarkable number of applications received from prospective candidates is indicative of the public's trust in AAP’s governance and vision,” Arora mentioned, noting that the party averaged 12 to 15 applications per ward.
He expressed assurance in the party's capabilities, referring to the transformative initiatives undertaken by the government over the past two and a half years.
“The public has observed the changes enacted by our government and is prepared to back AAP in these elections to ensure ongoing development at the local level,” he stated.
“Considering the enthusiasm and determination displayed in today’s meeting, we are confident of achieving a historic victory in these elections, further solidifying the people's trust in the Aam Aadmi Party,” Arora concluded.
