Ahmedabad, April 18 (NationPress) The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has presented a nine-point manifesto focusing on rights for the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), outlining its dedication to governance, infrastructure, and public services as the municipal elections approach.

Named “Adhikar Patra”, the manifesto was introduced in Ahmedabad by AAP's state in-charge Gopal Rai, Central Zone Working President Jewel Vasara, and State Chief Spokesperson Karan Barot.

Rai emphasized that the party is committed to delivering “nine rights” to the citizens through its civic strategy. “With an AAP-led AMC, Ahmedabad will be promised nine essential rights, with a core commitment to eradicate corruption,” he stated.

Addressing the financial aspects of the civic body, he mentioned that the AMC’s budget of Rs 18,508 crore is adequate to ensure quality education, healthcare, road services, and sanitation if allocated wisely.

He also pointed out the growing public discontent towards the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming that its candidates are encountering resistance during campaign efforts in cities like Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, and Rajkot.

“The current Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation is characterized by two major issues: rampant corruption and significant waste management problems,” he said, urging voters to consider AAP as a viable alternative.

Rai noted that despite facing several FIRs, over 5,000 AAP candidates remain in the electoral race.

Describing the manifesto, Vasara detailed its emphasis on transparency, essential services, health, education, mobility, environmental sustainability, employment opportunities, welfare, and digital governance.

“Our goal is to establish a clean, transparent, and corruption-free administration. All decisions, tenders, and contracts will be conducted completely online and subjected to live public audits, featuring a strict seven-day grievance resolution timeline with zero tolerance for corruption,” he added, assuring that civic expenditure and project details will be made publicly accessible.

Regarding infrastructure, he shared that the party envisions 24/7 potable water supply**, a smart water management system to curb leaks, a complete redesign and modernization of drainage systems, and innovative solutions to address waterlogging, along with wastewater recycling facilities.
