Abhishek Banerjee Omits Mention of Trinamool and CM Mamata Banerjee in His New Year Address

Kolkata, Jan 1 (NationPress) Political waves have emerged in West Bengal as Abhishek Banerjee, the General Secretary of the Trinamool Congress and a member of Lok Sabha, opted not to mention his party or Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in his New Year message on Wednesday.
There has been ongoing speculation regarding a possible divide within the ruling party concerning the debate between ‘new blood’ and ‘old guards’.
The specific wording of Banerjee's New Year address is noteworthy since he called for optimism and resolve without any explicit references to either state or national political matters.
"As we welcome 2025, let us look ahead with hope and determination. Each new year presents an opportunity to begin anew, charting a course driven by courage, compassion, and purpose,” his statement articulated.
He also expressed a desire for inspiration to transcend obstacles, promote unity, and strive towards a brighter future for everyone. "Let this year motivate us to rise above challenges, encourage harmony, and collaborate towards a more promising future for all. May we discover strength in unity, kindness in our hearts, and resilience amidst every trial," he stated.
"Cheers to a year filled with significant progress, shared happiness, and abundant opportunities. Wishing everyone a Happy and Prosperous New Year 2025!” the message concluded.
In contrast, the statement released by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on the first day of the New Year, which coincides with the foundation day of the Trinamool Congress, included a clear political reference to her party.
“Roshni chand se hoti hai, sitaron se nahi, Mohabbat Trinamool Congress se hoti hai, aur kisi se nahi! On Trinamool Congress Foundation Day, I sincerely thank every member of our extended family. Throughout these two decades, every protest, every victory, and every challenge has reaffirmed our fundamental belief: politics is not about power but about SERVICE. As we commemorate this milestone, I urge every Trinamool soldier to renew their commitment to fight for the people, and remember that our party's essence is grounded in the values of ‘Maa, Mati, Manush,” the Chief Minister’s statement declared.
