Global powers are divided in their support.

New Delhi, March 3 (NationPress) The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) has made a formal request to the Indian government, the United Nations, and the global community to take urgent and effective steps to halt the aggression by the US and Israel towards Iran.

AIMPLB Spokesperson S.Q.R. Ilyas issued a statement that strongly and categorically condemned this aggression, calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities.

Ilyas pointed out that at such a critical time, India could have assumed a neutral and respectful mediatory role.

“However, the current stance has negatively impacted the credibility of our nation’s foreign policy,” he remarked.

The Board requested the UN and the international community to take decisive action to ensure a ceasefire and prevent the region from spiraling into a catastrophic war.

Ilyas noted that there had been significant advancements in discussions between Iran and the United States regarding Iran's nuclear program.

As per Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi, who was facilitating the negotiations, Iran had acquiesced to nearly all of the US's demands.

Nevertheless, the abrupt decision by the US to terminate these discussions, followed by a coordinated assault on Iran with Israel, suggests that the negotiations were merely a facade rather than a genuine diplomatic initiative, he observed.

Ilyas expressed sorrow over the “martyrdom” of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, calling it a profound loss for the Muslim Ummah.

He also expressed disappointment that no official condolence message had been issued by Indian officials regarding the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei, which he believes contradicts our moral and diplomatic standards.

He highlighted that targeting the central leadership of a sovereign nation during wartime and openly discussing regime change is a blatant infringement of international law and the UN Charter.

Moreover, he mentioned that this conflict has plunged the entire West Asia into instability. While several European nations are aligning with the US, Russia and China are supporting Iran.

“If immediate and effective diplomatic intervention is not executed, this conflict risks escalating into a broader global war. A prolonged conflict would not only exacerbate the humanitarian crisis but also significantly impact the global economy, with developing nations bearing the brunt,” Ilyas concluded.

Point of View

The potential for wider repercussions on global stability necessitates a balanced and proactive approach from India.
