Bhubaneswar, April 16 (NationPress) The President of the Samajwadi Party (SP) and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav, expressed on Wednesday that central investigative bodies, such as the Enforcement Directorate (ED), ought to be dismantled if they are utilized for improper purposes.

“If agencies like the ED are employed for political vendettas, they should be disbanded. I urge Congress to also call for the closure of such agencies,” remarked the former Chief Minister while holding a press conference in Odisha.

In response to a question regarding the ED’s charges against Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald Case, the SP President noted that the ED Act was initially introduced by the Congress party.

“At that time, numerous parties expressed their concerns. Now, it is being abused,” he stated.

Akhilesh further asserted that central agencies such as the CBI, ED, and the Income Tax Department are being weaponized against all leaders who oppose the BJP.

Regarding the violence in Murshidabad, Akhilesh commented that during instances of communal unrest, leaders from all political factions should encourage local communities to understand that societal progress cannot occur amid such violence.

“Everyone must work to prevent violence or conflicts arising from religious or caste issues in any part of society,” he added.

Akhilesh sharply criticized Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for his remarks on the Murshidabad violence, stating: “Simply donning saffron doesn’t qualify someone as a Yogi. The Gita teaches that a true Yogi empathizes with others' suffering, rather than inflicting pain with their words.”

Akhilesh labeled Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as a “zero” in all endeavors.

“Thanks to Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, Uttar Pradesh consistently ranks at the bottom in major national evaluations. Yet, he seems to take pride in this,” remarked the former Chief Minister.

He also accused the BJP of being implicated in every significant riot that has taken place in Uttar Pradesh.

Directing his criticism towards the ruling BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, he noted that the state has not released any names or lists of Hindu pilgrims who either went missing or lost their lives during the Maha Kumbh, as such disclosure would obligate the state to compensate the victims' families.

On the absence of Rahul Gandhi at the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Akhilesh said that it is a matter of personal faith.

Regarding the situation in Tamil Nadu, he stated, “We endorse the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s position on delimitation. There is a scheme to manipulate the electoral system, facilitating easier victories through boundary adjustments.”
