Akhilesh Yadav Critiques Yogi Government Amid Sambhal Violence Controversy

New Delhi, Dec 3 (NationPress) The President of the Samajwadi Party (SP), Akhilesh Yadav, on Tuesday took aim at the Uttar Pradesh (UP) administration over the unrest in Sambhal concerning the mosque survey, deeming it a deliberate conspiracy.
In his address during the Lok Sabha, the SP leader held Yogi Adityanath and the UP Police responsible for the violent events in Sambhal and demanded accountability for the senior officers involved, advocating for their prosecution and dismissal for their role in conspiring against the community.
The former Chief Minister of UP insisted that the police should face consequences for the fatalities, which included five individuals, due to the violence, and called for murder charges against them.
“It was during the second mosque survey that crowds gathered outside, but the police set up barricades, preventing them from performing namaz, which escalated tensions,” he noted.
“Only a handful of individuals resorted to stone-pelting,” he continued.
He further accused the police of disrespecting the community, stating that such surveys only foster division and discord among different groups.
While the SP chief criticized the Yogi government for its serious mismanagement of the situation, he received enthusiastic support from party members who shouted slogans such as “Sambhal ko insaaf chahiye.”
Akhilesh asserted that the BJP is instigating animosity by promoting a ‘temple beneath mosque’ narrative, warning that such surveys threaten to disrupt the nation's social harmony.
Additionally, he made a pointed remark about the Yogi Adityanath government, indicating that the Sambhal violence stemmed from a conflict between Delhi and Lucknow.
“This is a conflict between Lucknow and Delhi. Those in Lucknow aim to emulate the actions of those in Delhi,” he added.
Previously, SP Rajya Sabha member Ram Gopal Yadav also condemned the UP government regarding the violence in Sambhal.
“The entire vicinity around the mosque was fortified. When locals suspected wrongdoing within the mosque, they voiced their concerns, but instead of addressing their issues, the police began firing at them,” Ram Gopal Yadav stated in the Upper House.
