Akhilesh Yadav Accuses BJP of Conspiracy Behind Sambhal Violence

Lucknow, Jan 7 (NationPress) The President of the Samajwadi Party (SP), Akhilesh Yadav, has made a pointed accusation against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh, asserting that the recent violence in Sambhal is a calculated government conspiracy.
While speaking to reporters, Akhilesh Yadav claimed that the BJP instigated violence in Sambhal, where innocent individuals were purportedly subjected to brutality. "When our SP delegation tried to travel to Sambhal, we were obstructed by the authorities. What is it that the government is attempting to conceal?" he queried, emphasizing that the event was a planned move to disturb communal peace.
He further condemned the BJP for its apparent indifference to human life, stating: "To them, life has no significance. This party is devoid of compassion and lacks any sense of justice or concern for public grievances."
The Leader of the Opposition in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Mata Prasad Pandey, also shared insights regarding the Sambhal violence, claiming that tensions were escalated intentionally due to a mosque survey. He accused the BJP of orchestrating these events, noting that the survey team comprised BJP members and that law enforcement employed excessive force. "Instead of utilizing tear gas, they resorted to gunfire, aiming to disrupt the state's communal harmony," he stated.
Pandey questioned the necessity of the survey, highlighting the Places of Worship Act, which prohibits such initiatives. "This whole incident was a part of a government conspiracy," he asserted.
The unrest in Sambhal began on November 24 when a team from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) visited the Shahi Jama Masjid to assess the historical mosque.
The SP leader also criticized the BJP regarding issues of corruption and injustice, particularly against the PDA (Backward, Dalit, and Minority communities). "Even BJP members are accusing one another of corruption. There is evident internal strife within their ranks in Delhi and Lucknow," he claimed.
Addressing electoral misconduct, he alleged that the administration was involved in election manipulation. Discussing the recent by-elections for nine Assembly seats, he remarked, "People were not permitted to vote freely, with police stationed to obstruct access to polling booths. The media should visit Milkipur to observe firsthand how elections are handled under this government."
In reference to the presence of saints and sages at the Kumbh, Akhilesh Yadav indirectly criticized Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, saying, "I pray that the saints take someone with them when they leave. Many individuals are engaged in inappropriate activities, affecting their responsibilities and others'."
He also raised concerns regarding the government's inaction regarding a BJP MLA's claim about cow slaughter. "The BJP MLA states that 50,000 cows are being slaughtered. If this is accurate, what is the Sanatani Chief Minister doing? If the MLA is mistaken, why hasn’t the government addressed this?"
Additionally, he accused the government of permitting the demolition of an ASI-protected structure in Agra. "This building was brought down by someone close to officials for business expansion purposes," Akhilesh Yadav alleged, condemning the administration for its negligence.
