Lucknow, May 6 (NationPress) Uttar Pradesh Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh stated that Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav appears to have a declining memory following his proposal for the Union government to convene an all-party meeting instead of conducting mock drills.
Akhilesh’s comments were made after the Ministry of Home Affairs announced a directive for a comprehensive defense mock drill in response to rising tensions following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that resulted in 26 fatalities.
Speaking to journalists, Minister Singh noted that an all-party meeting had already taken place after the terror incident in Baisaran Valley, Jammu and Kashmir, with a representative from the SP present.
He reminded Akhilesh that Ram Gopal Yadav represented the SP in this meeting and voiced support for the government's efforts.
Criticizing SP chief's statement regarding the defense corridor, Jaiveer Singh emphasized that India has become significantly Aatmanirbhar (self-reliant) and is now in a position to export weapons internationally.
In response to Akhilesh's claim about the BJP's knowledge of an impending war between India and Pakistan, the Minister remarked, 'Everyone is aware of who orchestrates terror. Doesn't Akhilesh realize this? Yet, he continues to make statements aimed at undermining the government's and Army's morale.'
This statement was made following a review of the progress on Bharat Ratna Bhim Rao Ambedkar's Memorial and Cultural Centre.
The cultural center is anticipated to be completed by October and is set to be inaugurated on Mahaparnirvan Diwas on December 6, as shared by the Minister.
Jaiveer Singh also accused the SP of being anti-Dalit, stating that historical evidence reveals how past SP governments oppressed the marginalized and Dalit communities.
Furthermore, he highlighted the Modi government's initiative to develop the Panchteerth in honor of Dr. Ambedkar.
