Ahmedabad, Feb 27 (NationPress) The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has initiated a comprehensive program aimed at managing stray animals and enhancing the coexistence between humans and animals, as announced by officials on Friday.
The new policy designates specific locations for feeding stray dogs and other animals, imposing fines for feeding in unauthorized areas.
According to the AMC’s Cattle Nuisance Control Department (CNCD), the initiative seeks to establish organized feeding practices while maintaining the city’s cleanliness.
Naresh Rajput, CNCD Head, stated, “In accordance with the Central government’s Animals Birth Rules 2023 and Supreme Court directives, each urban local body is required to set up feeding zones for street dogs. To date, over 110,000 cows in the city have been equipped with Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags and microchips.
