New Delhi, Sep 14 (NationPress) On September 17, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to inaugurate 15 significant initiatives to celebrate the commencement of the Delhi government’s ‘Seva Pakhwada’ (Fortnight of Service) during an event at Thyagraj Stadium, as confirmed by an official on Sunday.

The projects to be unveiled by HM Shah encompass the Atal Drishti Girls’ Hostel catering to visually impaired students, the Atal Asha Home for individuals with intellectual disabilities, and the Savitribai Phule Senior Citizens’ Home, as detailed by the official.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta stated that the Delhi government is not only striving to transform the capital into a 'Viksit Delhi' but is also expeditiously completing projects for marginalized groups that previous administrations overlooked.

CM Gupta noted that September 17 coincides with the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and in honor of this occasion, her government has chosen to observe 'Seva Pakhwada' from this day through October 2.

The Atal Asha Home, situated in Narela, Outer Delhi, serves as a model facility for intellectually disabled individuals in India. Built at a cost of approximately Rs 40.60 crore on a plot of 12,500 square meters, the complex includes a built-up area of 1,719.55 square meters (Ground plus three floors) with a capacity to accommodate 220 residents.

The Savitribai Phule Senior Citizens’ Home was built in Paschim Vihar at a cost of Rs 10.64 crore. Covering a plot area of 2,257 square meters with a built-up area of 510 square meters (Stilt plus Upper Ground and four floors), this facility can house 96 residents.

This home will offer senior citizens a safe, comfortable, and dignified living environment, equipped with medical facilities, nutritious meals, hygienic accommodation, and opportunities for recreational and social activities.

The Chief Minister added that the home bears the name of Savitribai Phule, India’s first female teacher and social reformer, who fought against injustices like child marriage and discrimination, advocating for women’s education.
