Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to undertake a two-day visit to Gujarat on 28-29 May, during which he will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for multiple development projects across the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency and Ahmedabad, and chair key organisational and review meetings. Shah, who also serves as the Member of Parliament from Gandhinagar, is expected to cover several locations across the state over the course of the visit.

Key Inaugurations on May 28

Shah's programme on 28 May begins with a series of development events in the Gandhinagar region. In Vadsar, he will inaugurate the newly constructed Jedva Lake, developed under the Anandam Parivar CSR fund. At the same location, and in Jalund and Sardhav, he will also inaugurate newly established libraries set up under Toyota Kirloskar Motors Limited's CSR initiative.

At Khatraj, Shah will lay the foundation stone for lake beautification works undertaken by the Arvind Foundation and inaugurate a newly constructed village panchayat office. Further engagements include the inauguration of the Pay Centre Primary School at Moti Bhoyan, along with foundation stone laying and inauguration of development works in Sonipur village and areas under the Kalol and Gandhinagar North assembly constituencies.

Organisational Meeting at BJP Headquarters

During his visit to Sonipur, Shah is scheduled to have lunch at the residence of former sarpanch and senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker Gandaji Thakor. Later, a meeting of senior BJP office-bearers will be held in his presence at the state party headquarters, 'Shri Kamalam'. This organisational session is expected to cover party matters ahead of upcoming political activities in the state.

Ahmedabad Events and Olympics Review

In Ahmedabad, Shah will inaugurate the CBSE regional office in the Chandkheda area and a newly constructed hostel building at the Umiyadham campus in Sola. He will also inaugurate the 'Bharat Mata' sculpture developed by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation at New Vadaj.

This will be followed by a review meeting at the Circuit House, chaired by Shah, on preparations for the Olympic, Commonwealth, and World Police and Fire Games — an indication of Gujarat's role in India's broader international sporting ambitions.

Bhuj Visit and Day Two

After completing his 28 May schedule, Shah is expected to travel to Bhuj in Kutch. His visit continues on 29 May with additional engagements as part of the two-day programme across the state. Details of the second day's itinerary have not yet been fully disclosed.
