Mumbai, April 11 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to embark on a two-day journey to Maharashtra starting Friday evening, where he will honor Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the Raigad Fort and participate in several events.

Shah is scheduled to arrive in Pune at 8 p.m. and will pay his respects at the memorial of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's mother, Jijamata, in Raigad district at 10.30 a.m. on Saturday, before proceeding to Raigad Fort, which stands as a testament to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s legacy.

Once the hub of his thriving Maratha Empire, this hilltop fortress is steeped in tales of valor, creativity, and gallantry. Raigad Fort resonates with the extraordinary bravery and strategic vision of Shivaji Maharaj, who turned this fort into an emblem of might. He will engage in various activities planned at the fort.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, NCP Working President Praful Patel, state NCP chief Sunil Tatkare, and Minister of Women and Child Welfare Aditi Tatkare are anticipated to join the Union Minister.

Afterwards, Amit Shah is expected to have lunch at the residence of Tatkare in Roha, located in Raigad district. NCP sources have confirmed that the Union Minister has accepted the invitation for lunch at Tatkare's home.

It remains unclear whether Deputy CM Eknath Shinde and Minister of Employment Guarantee Scheme Bharat Gogawale, elected from the Mahad constituency in Raigad district, will be present at the lunch hosted by Tatkare.

The NCP and Shiv Sena are currently embroiled in a conflict regarding the Raigad district guardian minister position. The minister for women and child welfare, Aditi Tatkare, was appointed as the Raigad district guardian minister, but following strong protests from Shiv Sena, the Chief Minister has put Tatkare's appointment on hold. The deadlock persists as both factions maintain their stance.

Later, Amit Shah will attend an event for a weekly magazine in Mumbai at 5.30 p.m. Following that, he will arrive at the state government guesthouse 'Sahyadri' at 6.30 p.m., where he will meet with CM Devendra Fadnavis and senior state BJP leaders.

BJP insiders have confirmed the meeting between the Union Minister and state BJP leaders amidst the ongoing membership drive.

According to the schedule released by the state BJP regarding Amit Shah's visit to Maharashtra, he will not be addressing any public gatherings.
