Amaravati, June 26 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Thursday instructed the Finance Department to focus on capital expenditure. He underscored the necessity to allocate funds received from the Central Government towards capital investments.
The Chief Minister pointed out that while welfare programs are essential, there should be a stronger focus on capital expenditure, which is vital for wealth generation and revenue growth. He urged officials to prioritize projects that have a significant impact.
During a thorough review of the State Finance Department held at his camp office, which included Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav and senior officials, the Chief Minister assessed the state's financial condition, encompassing revenue, spending, and fund distribution.
He evaluated monthly expenditures on welfare initiatives, including pensions, and engaged in detailed conversations about funding needs for upcoming development projects and the execution of various schemes. He highlighted the need for ensuring the availability of sufficient funds to support these initiatives.
Moreover, the Chief Minister instructed officials to look into funding opportunities via NABARD and to prioritize expenditures within the Panchayati Raj Department.
In other developments, the state government has finalized tenders for the construction of the Integrated State Secretariat and HOD Towers in the capital, Amaravati.
NCC Limited has been awarded the contract for the Integrated Secretariat and HOD office (GAD Tower) at a cost of Rs.882.47 crore.
Additionally, the Shahpoorji Pallonji Group won the tender for HOD Towers 1 and 2, with a cost of Rs.1,487.11 crore.
Furthermore, Larsen & Toubro secured the tender for HOD Towers 3 and 4, which will be constructed at a cost of Rs.1,303.85 crore.
