Amaravati, July 18 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), N. Chandrababu Naidu, has instructed his party's Members of Parliament to enhance their efforts in securing vital funding and promoting significant developmental initiatives within the state.
During a recent Parliamentary Party meeting, CM Chandrababu Naidu highlighted the necessity of making effective use of Parliamentary sessions.
He encouraged MPs to address critical topics such as Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers, disputes over river water, and the advancement of industrial growth.
He pointed out the importance of ensuring that the Centre is informed of the state government’s actions regarding these issues through Parliamentary discussions.
As Naidu's party plays a pivotal role in the BJP-led NDA government, he underscored the significance of maintaining regular communication with the Union Government. “MPs have been given specific departmental responsibilities. You need to engage consistently with Union Ministers on relevant issues and pending matters while coordinating with state administration,” he advised.
He mentioned that through ongoing consultations, they succeeded in reintroducing bills worth Rs 180 crore related to NREGA back into legislative discussions. He urged MPs to focus on central initiatives like Jal Jeevan Mission and Ayushman Bharat Health Mission to secure further financial support.
“MPs must be well-informed on all pertinent issues and have relevant data readily available. Staying alert to changing political circumstances is essential. At the recent meeting of Chief Ministers from Telugu states in Delhi, my effective advocacy for the state was based on accurate and extensive information,” he stated.
Naidu instructed MPs to ensure that mango farmers receive necessary support from the Centre, to engage in discussions concerning GST reductions for the pulp industry, and to bring recent developments in Andhra Pradesh to the attention of Parliament.
Additionally, he called for an emphasis on modern initiatives like Quantum Valley, Green Hydrogen Valley, population management, and the P4 initiative. “When discussing issues related to criminal politics, clearly present the actual developments occurring in the state,” he added, referencing former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party President Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The Chief Minister commended TDP MPs for their regular attendance and active participation in Parliamentary activities. “Our MPs are excelling. While the national average attendance among MPs is at 85%, TDP members have exceeded this with 86.2%, ranking them the highest nationally,” he remarked.
Highlighting their effectiveness, he noted that TDP MPs lead in both debate participation and the number of inquiries raised.
He encouraged them to persist in voicing the state’s concerns while recognizing the commendable actions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“He is the right leader at the right moment. Through initiatives like Operation Sindoor, a strong message has been conveyed to terrorists. MPs should actively partake in discussions on matters such as Operation Sindoor and the 50th anniversary of the Emergency,” he concluded.
