Amaravati, April 7 (NationPress) The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board convened on Tuesday to greenlight 31 initiatives valued at Rs 39,436 crore, which are expected to create more than 1.11 lakh direct jobs.
During the meeting led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the board approved projects across vital sectors such as renewable energy, industries, IT, tourism, and food processing.
Focusing on clean energy as a cornerstone of Andhra Pradesh's industrial strategy, the Chief Minister urged officials to tap into the state's solar capabilities, with a strong emphasis on developing Rayalaseema as a significant renewable energy center.
He highlighted the importance of establishing large solar parks and advancing transmission infrastructure to facilitate smooth power evacuation—both within the state and to national grids and interstate markets. This initiative aims to position Andhra Pradesh as a leading supplier of green energy across India, according to an official statement.
The state is also intensifying its efforts to become a major manufacturing hub for consumer electronics, identifying areas like Sri City, Kopparthy, and Anantapur as key growth centers.
In addition to manufacturing, the government is advocating for the development of Global Capability Centres (GCCs) to enrich the IT ecosystem and draw in high-value technological investments.
The board has also approved proposals from three firms in the upcoming Quantum Valley of Amaravati, marking a significant step in advanced technology investments.
Furthermore, initiatives aimed at converting agricultural, horticultural, and aquaculture waste into value-added products like ethanol were sanctioned, aligning with the state’s commitment to a circular and sustainable industrial model.
Simultaneously, the government is enhancing food processing capabilities, aligning it with the increasing output of horticulture, while improving market connections for crops like palm oil and cocoa to boost farmer revenues and support MSME growth.
Emphasizing the necessity for industrial safety, the Chief Minister called for modern protocols across various sectors, including pharmaceuticals, steel, green energy, and battery storage. A detailed standard operating framework compliant with disaster management guidelines will be introduced.
He also stressed the importance of execution, directing officials to ensure that the approved projects are launched within specified timelines and that investment commitments made during summits lead to tangible progress.
With this latest approval round, Andhra Pradesh is reaffirming its stature as a promising investment hub anchored in renewable energy, advanced manufacturing, and sustainable industrialization.
“Our emphasis is on speed, scale, and sustainability—ensuring that investments quickly translate into jobs and economic development,” the Chief Minister remarked, reiterating the state’s aspiration to become a national leader in next-generation industries.
