Srinagar, March 15 (NationPress) In a significant move to support the families affected by terrorism, Jammu and Kashmir’s Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha, presented compassionate appointment letters to 50 next of kin of terror victims on Sunday. This initiative is part of a broader effort named ‘Sharansthli’ (Support), aimed at providing these families with the opportunity to rebuild their lives through meaningful employment.
During the event held at the Lok Bhawan auditorium in Srinagar, the L-G emphasized the government’s commitment to helping those affected, stating, “Numerous families have awaited this assistance for a long time. By offering jobs, we are instilling hope and enabling them to move forward.”
He referred to the distribution of appointment letters as a timely Eid gift for these families. “Eid Mubarak to everyone present. These letters signify justice, acknowledgment, and a fresh start. Together, we must uplift our youth, uphold dignity, and work towards a promising future for Jammu & Kashmir. To date, over 400 families of terror victims have received similar letters, and we are committed to resolving any discrepancies promptly,” he added.
The L-G asserted, “We are actively coordinating with the SSP and administration to ensure justice is not just rhetoric but a beacon guiding us towards a brighter future. Families that have long sought government support are finally being recognized and embraced by the authorities.”
He acknowledged the immense suffering these families have experienced, particularly those who lost loved ones at a young age. “We are dedicated to rehabilitating them and addressing their concerns, including those who lack representation, with case reviews scheduled for April,” he noted.
Under the Prime Minister’s guidance, initiatives have been put in place to strengthen the systems in Jammu and Kashmir. “We are fostering a framework based on equity, justice, and self-reliance. Success stories, such as sixteen youths qualifying for the Union Public Service Commission and Jammu & Kashmir's recent achievements in the Ranji Trophy, underscore our ongoing efforts to empower the community,” he stated.
On the subject of security and a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism, the L-G reiterated his commitment to enforcing stringent actions against those perpetuating violence. “The police and administration are actively engaged, and it is essential for society to reject these elements. Our resolve aligns with the Prime Minister’s stance on zero tolerance for terrorism,” he concluded.
Lt Governor Manoj Sinha has shown a personal commitment to alleviating the hardships of families left voiceless after the loss of their breadwinners due to terrorist acts.
