Srinagar, Aug 5 (NationPress) The Lt Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, on Tuesday presented 250 appointment letters to the families of terror victims during a ceremony held in Srinagar city.
This initiative aims to assist and support those who have lost their loved ones due to terrorism. L-G Manoj Sinha distributed the appointment letters at the Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar.
Out of the 250 recipients, 158 received their letters in person, while the remaining letters will be distributed at the district level in the upcoming days.
The beneficiaries hail from various districts in the Valley, including Srinagar, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Budgam, Baramulla, Kupwara, Shopian, Anantnag, and Pulwama.
This event is part of L-G's ongoing outreach to support those who have suffered decades without justice after terrorists took away their primary earners and loved ones.
Due to fear of retaliation from terrorists, these families often remained voiceless, with many instances where even basic FIRs were not filed concerning the heinous civilian murders perpetrated by Pakistan-backed terrorists.
L-G Manoj Sinha not only leads the efforts to alleviate the suffering of these victims but also reaches out personally to offer moral support and redressal.
He has engaged with numerous families, urging them to share their untold stories of tragedy, which have often gone unnoticed amidst the chaos of terrorism and the propaganda that has made supporting terrorism a profitable venture over the last 35 years in Kashmir.
The L-G has been advocating for the comprehensive dismantling of the terrorist ecosystem, which includes armed terrorists, their overground workers (OGWs), and those who glamorize terrorism by promoting a deceptive anti-national narrative.
On July 13, he personally handed out appointment letters to 40 victim families in Baramulla. This was succeeded by another event in Jammu on July 28, where the L-G distributed letters to 80 families of terror victims.
