Itanagar, Aug 17 (NationPress) Chief Minister Pema Khandu revealed on Sunday that nearly 100 percent of farmers in Arunachal Pradesh have received Kisan Credit Cards to support their financial requirements. He shared on his social media account X, stating: “A total of 96,492 Kisan Credit Cards have been issued so far, achieving 99.26 percent saturation.”
An official noted that approximately 46.1 percent of the nation’s population is involved in agriculture and related sectors. Thus, ensuring financial stability and accessible credit for farmers is a major focus for the Central government.
In line with this, the Union Budget 2025-26 has introduced significant initiatives to enhance agricultural financing, particularly through the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) program, according to Khandu. He emphasized that the KCC scheme has played a vital role in addressing farmers’ financial needs.

The official highlighted that ensuring hassle-free credit at lower rates remains the government’s top priority for farmers.
Reflecting on nine years of his administration’s farmer-friendly initiatives, the Chief Minister remarked that Arunachal Pradesh’s agricultural and allied sectors are rapidly progressing and evolving.
“From credit to crops, tools to technology, farmers in Arunachal Pradesh are advancing towards enhanced productivity, sustainability, and prosperity,” stated CM Khandu.
He mentioned that Rs 142.67 crore has been allocated to support 99,656 farmers under PM-Kisan, and 1,02,295 farmers have received Soil Health Cards throughout the state.
As per the Chief Minister, 26,163 hectares were covered, aiding 5,658 farmers under the PM-Per Drop More Crop initiative.
Additionally, 15,099 farmers have benefited from the Mission Organic Value Chain Development, with Rs 23.25 crore already disbursed.
To modernize agricultural practices, 42,418 modern farm tools have been distributed over the past nine years, according to CM Khandu’s post on X.
