Guwahati, March 13 (NationPress) Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Thursday that the state government will allocate a minimum of Rs 342 crore to offer one-time support to tea laborers, acknowledging their relentless contributions that have established the tea sector as a fundamental pillar of the state.
In a statement on social media platform X, the CM expressed, "A tribute to the industry that served as Assam's gateway to industrial growth. In #AssamBudget2025, we have approved Rs 342 crore to grant a one-time Samman Rashi of Rs 5,000 to each of the 6.2 lakh Cha Shramiks in Assam as a token of appreciation for their dedicated efforts."
