Assam Government Committed to Comprehensive Development: CM Sarma

Guwahati, Dec 23 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, declared on Monday that the government has been relentlessly working to ensure comprehensive development for individuals from various communities within the state.

While addressing an event in Dibrugarh, Sarma remarked, “The current government is fully committed to fostering all-round development for every segment of society in the state.”

He also highlighted the state's 12-day development initiative that concluded on Monday, designed to assist targeted groups via government interventions.

Throughout this campaign, Sarma, along with his Council of Ministers, toured multiple districts to engage in the development initiatives.

In just 12 days, 20 lakh new ration cards were issued, and 48,673 students received benefits from the Dr. Bani Kanta Kakati Merit Scholarship.

Sarma noted that since the launch of the scholarship program, it has supported 109,000 students.

Referring to the NEP 2020, he mentioned the guideline of establishing a high school within every five kilometers and announced that the state government is providing bicycles to all students in class IX.

The Chief Minister remarked that a new era in education has begun, with the state investing Rs 2,000 crore annually for the benefit of students.

He encouraged students to view education as their career path, asserting that this will lead Assam to significant progress.

Furthermore, he expressed optimism that if the current development momentum continues, substantial investments will flow into Assam.

“Measures have been implemented to guarantee that in the emerging Assam, there will be ample employment opportunities. With the advent of Industry 4.0, new fields such as AI, Robotics, and 3D technology are being integrated into the academic framework of the state,” he concluded.
