Assam's Sub-Districts Initiative Aimed at Empowering Local Administrative Units: CM Sarma

Guwahati, Dec 19 (NationPress) Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated on Thursday that the state government has introduced sub-districts in Assam to strengthen small-scale administrative units for effective public service delivery.

In a post on X, he mentioned, “In Assam, we have rolled out the sub-districts initiative to empower small-scale administrative units to provide public services and address their grievances efficiently.”

“Alongside other measures, our government is dedicated to ensuring Good Governance through our initiatives,” he added.

The Chief Minister also noted, “Today marks the commencement of #GoodGovernanceWeek2024, a week dedicated to highlighting the people-centric initiatives of the government. This year, commemorating Atal ji's jayanti, we have adopted the theme 'Prashasan Gao ki Ore' to emphasize enhancing service delivery in rural regions.”

It is worth mentioning that CM Himanta Biswa Sarma participated in a significant presentation regarding the Gelephu Mindfulness City Project during his four-day visit to Bhutan on Wednesday.

Following the presentation, Sarma enjoyed a lunch hosted by Dr Lotay Tshering, the Governor of the Gelephu Mindfulness City Project.

Later, the Chief Minister, along with his spouse Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, met with the esteemed spiritual leader Sadhguru at India House in Thimphu. They engaged in a discussion on various spiritual topics, which Dr Sarma described as a deeply enriching experience.
