Assam Chief Minister Participates in Presentation on Gelephu Mindfulness City Initiative in Bhutan

Guwahati, Dec 19 (NationPress) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended a significant presentation regarding the Gelephu Mindfulness City Project during his four-day trip to Bhutan on Wednesday.
The presentation offered essential insights into the goals and structure of the project.
Representatives from Druk Holding and Investments Limited emphasized their current efforts to promote environmental sustainability while pursuing economic development.
The presentation also highlighted Bhutan's energy initiatives, underlining their capacity to strengthen the mutual interests of Assam and Bhutan.
CM Sarma extended an invitation to the attending dignitaries and entrepreneurs to participate in the forthcoming investor summit, 'Advantage Assam', aimed at infrastructure and investment prospects.
After the presentation, CM Sarma enjoyed a lunch hosted by Lotay Tshering, the Governor of the Gelephu Mindfulness City Project.
Subsequently, the Chief Minister, joined by his wife Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, met with the esteemed spiritual leader Sadhguru at the India House in Thimphu. They engaged in discussions on various spiritual topics, which CM Sarma characterized as a deeply enriching experience.
Present during the conversation were Bhutan's Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay and his wife Tashi Doma, as well as India's Ambassador to Bhutan, Sudhakar Dalela, and his wife Namrata Dalela.
CM Sarma also met with renowned educator Arun Kapur, who has dedicated over four decades to the education sector.
He also visited the historic Simtokha Dzong, a significant spiritual and cultural site in Bhutan, where he offered prayers and sought blessings for peace and prosperity.
On Tuesday, CM Sarma had an audience with Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck, discussing the enhancement of historical relations between Assam and Bhutan and the advancement of collaborative initiatives between the two regions.
The talks also revolved around promoting Bhutan's development, improving the welfare of its citizens, and advocating broader regional economic growth.
