New Delhi, June 9 (NationPress) In the past decade, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, there has been a noticeable enhancement in public awareness regarding health matters and vaccination, according to experts speaking on Monday.
In an interview with IANS, Padma Shri awardee and plastic surgeon Dr. Yogi Aeron credited this progress to robust healthcare systems and initiatives such as Ayushman Bharat.
“Thanks to improved healthcare frameworks and health insurance plans like Ayushman Bharat, the public's awareness of health issues has surged. There is a marked willingness to embrace immunisation, contrasting sharply with the past when vaccine hesitancy was rampant,” Aeron stated.
“With Ayushman Bharat, even the most economically disadvantaged feel secure and can access specialized medical professionals,” noted the 84-year-old doctor from Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
He pointed out that the last decade has witnessed an increase in the number of healthcare professionals in India. He commended the government for expanding postgraduate medical seats, which allows more doctors to specialize.
Aeron also praised PM Modi’s approach, which he described as being rooted in the grassroots level.
“PM Modi’s vision differs; he operates from the ground up and aligns with the common people, rather than just catering to the elite,” he remarked.
“If India continues to have a leader like Modi for another 10-20 years, the nation will reach extraordinary heights,” Aeron added.
Padma Bhushan Dr. Tejas Patel from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, also commended the government for enhancing India’s global image and focusing on recognizing deserving individuals with prestigious awards like the Padma Awards.
“We have witnessed how Modi has elevated India’s respect and global presence. His leadership during operations like Operation Sindoor illustrates his refusal to yield to global pressures or be swayed by influential entities,” Patel told IANS.
