New Delhi, Jan 14 (NationPress) As he prepares to file his nomination for the forthcoming Assembly elections, AAP leader Somnath Bharti has embarked on a spiritual journey, initiating his day with visits to sacred sites in Malviya Nagar on Tuesday. He expressed that for him, politics is indeed a spiritual endeavor.
Somnath Bharti, who serves as the MLA for Malviya Nagar, began his nomination journey at the renowned Laxmi Narayan Temple located in Malviya Nagar. After the temple, he visited the Gurdwara in the same area, followed by a stop at the Hauz Rani mosque.
In an interview with IANS, Bharti stated, "This is a process. When we engage in elections, it is crucial to commence with positivity and divine blessings. As with every election, I began my journey at the historic Laxmi Narayan Mandir in Malviya Nagar, then moved on to the Gurdwara and the prominent mosque in Hauz Rani. From there, I will proceed to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate’s office to formally file my nomination."
"Along the way, I will connect with individuals who continue to support me. For me, politics has perpetually been a spiritual journey, which is why I am here today," he added.
When questioned about the recent comments made by the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, Bharti replied, "Rahul Gandhi's remarks will be addressed by Arvind Kejriwal. My focus is exclusively on my constituency, and my attention is directed here."
During a rally in Seelampur, northeast Delhi, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi accused the AAP of neglecting the requirements of minorities and underprivileged communities.
The Delhi Assembly elections are set for February 5, with results expected on February 8.
This upcoming election is being characterized as the ‘toughest’ battle for the AAP, particularly after the challenges it faced over the previous two years, with the leadership embroiled in investigations by central agencies concerning corruption allegations, primarily revolving around the new liquor excise policy.
