Atishi, Delhi CM, Visits Kalkaji Temple Prior to Nomination Submission

New Delhi, Jan 13 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Delhi and AAP representative for the Kalkaji Assembly constituency, Atishi, is set to officially submit her nomination papers on Monday for the forthcoming Assembly elections. Before this important event, Chief Minister Atishi visited the Kalkaji Temple to offer her prayers and seek the blessings of the deity.

Earlier today, Chief Minister Atishi shared her intentions on X, stating, "I am preparing to file my nomination today. My first stop will be the Kalkaji Temple to receive the blessings of Kalka Mai. Following my prayers at the Giri Nagar Gurudwara, I will kick off my nomination rally. Over the past five years, I have been overwhelmed by the love from my Kalkaji family. I am optimistic that their blessings will continue to guide me on this journey."

In an effort to rally support for her campaign, CM Atishi initiated a crowdfunding campaign on Sunday, highlighting her party's dedication to the politics of integrity and hard work.

During a recent press briefing, she provided an online donation link and disclosed that she requires Rs 40 lakh to fund her election campaign.

"The AAP has consistently depended on small donations from everyday citizens to contest elections, allowing us to maintain a transparent and honest political stance," CM Atishi remarked.

She further emphasized that throughout the last five years, "you have stood by me in my roles as an MLA, a minister, and now as the Chief Minister of Delhi. This journey would not have been feasible without your steadfast blessings and trust."

CM Atishi will be facing competition in Kalkaji from BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri and Congress candidate Alka Lamba.

Voting for all 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly is scheduled for February 5, with vote counting planned for February 8.

The AAP, which won a remarkable victory in 2015 by securing 67 seats and maintained its position with 62 seats in 2020, is striving for a third consecutive term in Delhi.

Meanwhile, the BJP, which won three seats in 2015 and increased its count to eight in 2020, is aiming to enhance its influence. The Congress, on the other hand, is yet to regain a foothold in the Assembly, having faced defeat in the last two elections.
