New Delhi, Jan 23 (NationPress) BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri, who is contesting from the Kalkaji Assembly seat, has accused Delhi Chief Minister Atishi of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of lacking campaign support in the area.
Bidhuri asserted that CM Atishi is making baseless accusations to stir controversy, rather than highlighting her accomplishments during her ten years in Kalkaji.
In response to a video released by CM Atishi, in which she allegedly identifies a person intimidating and attacking AAP workers as his nephew, Bidhuri clarified, "I want to make it clear that he is not my nephew. I have lodged a complaint with the police and the Election Commission, requesting them to investigate this video and unveil the AAP's deceptive strategies."
In an interview with IANS, Bidhuri stated, "Atishi has no campaign workers and has not managed to host a single meeting in her constituency, particularly in areas like Gali No. 8 to 16. The roads are in disrepair, and the drainage system is neglected. If she had any workers, she could at least show one photo from any meeting she has organized."
He further criticized her, saying, "She has earned the title of ‘cake minister’ for simply attending children’s birthday parties with cakes. That has been her most notable activity in recent times."
Bidhuri accused CM Atishi of trying to divert public focus and shunning discussions about her performance. "She openly claimed that I haven’t done any work in Kalkaji. However, if you visit the area, you will see my nameplate on the community center I constructed. She hasn’t noticed it because she doesn’t visit the locality," he told IANS.
He added, "Atishi once claimed she would support the BJP if she could find a single accomplishment of mine in Kalkaji. Now, will she follow through on that promise?"
The Congress has nominated Alka Lamba from Kalkaji, turning this into a three-way contest in this significant electoral battle.
Voting is set for February 5, with vote counting scheduled for February 8.
