New Delhi, Jan 15 (NationPress) BJP's Ramesh Bidhuri, contesting from the Kalkaji Assembly seat, officially submitted his nomination for the forthcoming Delhi Assembly elections on Wednesday.
In the company of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Bidhuri launched a fierce critique against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), alleging a pattern of deceptive promises and a neglect of local development.
Bidhuri is set to face competition from AAP's candidate and the current Delhi Chief Minister, Atishi, along with Congress candidate Alka Lamba.
After filing his nomination, Bidhuri remarked, "Residents of Kalkaji are relieved as the era of AAP-da governance is nearing its end. They have endured hardships due to poorly maintained roads, malfunctioning drainage systems, and an accumulation of waste. Finally, genuine development is on the horizon."
When questioned about AAP's assertion that he is being positioned as BJP's chief ministerial candidate, Bidhuri refuted this notion, labeling Arvind Kejriwal a conspirator.
"Kejriwal has a track record of false declarations. He claimed he wouldn’t partner with Congress but did so later. I am in politics to serve, not to chase any post," he stated.
Union Minister Puri also criticized Kejriwal, claiming he has deceived the populace with unfulfilled commitments.
"For a decade, Kejriwal has made empty promises in Delhi. He vowed to clean the Yamuna, enhance health and education, yet he has failed to uphold these assurances. Look at the air quality, the condition of our roads, and the Yamuna, which has become a sewer," Puri expressed.
Puri further commented on AAP's administration in Punjab, asserting that the party has not fulfilled its obligations there.
He accused the AAP leadership of corruption, referencing RTI findings that disclosed extravagant spending on official vehicles.
"The Delhi government expended Rs 1.5 crore on Kejriwal's cars and Rs 50 lakh on Manish Sisodia's vehicles. This underscores their personal corruption and diminished credibility," Puri remarked.
Atishi, the AAP candidate for Kalkaji, filed her nomination on Tuesday.
Numerous other BJP figures, including Parvesh Verma (New Delhi), Vijender Gupta (Rohini), Satish Upadhyay (Malviya Nagar), and Ajay Mahawar (Ghonda), also submitted their nominations for the elections.
The elections are slated for February 5, promising a significant contest among the AAP, BJP, and Congress, with results anticipated on February 8.
